Parents and Cubs, Our Cub meeting on Tuesday February 26th has been cancelled to make time for some special events that week. This is the time of year when we join together with the other elements of our group at 25th Dunbar, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers and Rovers to honour our founder, Lord Baden Powell and recap our achievements of the past year. We have two events upcoming: Feb 24 - Baden Powell Church Service. We will be joining our sponsor congregation of Dunbar United Church to show our thanks for their ongoing, generous support - particularly our meeting location (over 65 years!). Cubs are asked to meet at the church at 9:15 am. We will be joined by other sections of the 25th Dunbar Scouts and parade into service with our flags. Service begins at 10am and we should be finished by 11:30am. All families are welcome. Feb 25 - Baden Powell Banquet. Annual Banquet of the 25th Dunbar Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Ventures and Rovers. 6:00 p.m. at Dunbar Heights United Church. Cubs should arrive at 5:00 to help set up for the banquet. There will be great food, fellowship, a brief AGM and a slide show of highlights of the past year. All youth & leaders should be in uniform. We ask that each family make a small donation at the door and limit ourselves to one adult accompanying each Cub. Each Cub is asked to bring a salad for 8. Please bring your food by 6:00 pm so the volunteers can do any re-warming or slicing. Mark any dishes with your name. This is a great event where the Dunbar 25th community pays tribute to the founder of the Scouting movement and a chance for kids from all the groups to see each other. We expect all Cubs. We need 2 parents to assist in the kitchen. This would be a huge help to your leaders. We also need parents to assist with set up or cleaning. Please let me know me at the rally or by e-mail if you can help out.
