Hi scout families.

> Oct 7 – FULL UNIFORM meeting and the investiture of new scouts. Scouts will be participating in an urban scavenger hunt around the neighbourhood so bring a flashlight and a coat. Parents are invited to attend the investiture from 8:30 to 9:00 pm.

> Oct 14 – no meeting due to Thanksgiving holiday

Oct 19 - 20 Apple Day fundraising. This is one of our important fund-raisers – last year, the Beavers, Cubs & Scouts raised over $2,000 in this effort! It is also a great chance to promote our group in the community. Every scout is expected to do a 1 to 2-hr shift at the Choice's market on 16th. I need a volunteer parent to schedule scouts for this event. Please contact me if you could take on this task.

> Oct 21 & 28 – regular meetings.

> Tuesday, Oct 29 – Scout night at MEC. Time: 7 – 9 PM at 130 West Broadway. Receive 10% off all off of all regularly priced items purchased that evening – including bikes and boats! To attend, please RSVP at vancouverclubnights@mec.ca. Participants must be a member of Mountain Equipment Co-op in order to make a purchase. If you are not yet a member, you may purchase a $5.00 membership that evening.

Upcoming events for your calendar:

> Oct 25-27 camp at Whonnock Lake. This will be a combined event with the Dunbar Cubs.

> Nov 22-24 camp at Allouette Lake.
